FAQ
You have questions. We have answers.
-
What types of bikes can I expect to ride?
The bike rental shop we partner with recent carbon framed high quality bikes. Brands include Wilier, Bianchi, Stevens and Canyon. During the April peak cycle season demand is higher than supply. You will get a great bike, but you will not be choosing brands! All the bikes have compact cranks and “granny gears”.
-
Can I bring my own bike?
Certainly. Every year we have 2-3 people who choose to bring their own bikes.
Please let us know as soon as you can if you plan on bringing your own bike. We do not allow people to rent bikes from other suppliers in Mallorca.
To note: parts for North American bikes are not always easy to find in Mallorca should something break in transit (ie: derailleur hanger).
-
Can I rent a bike from somewhere else on the island?
We have an excusive deal with our bike rental shop so we have not allowed third party rentals. Our deal helps keep the overall cost of the trip low.
-
What kind of weather can I expect?
Mallorca has excellent weather but it is a temperate zone climate. We have had high temperatures of 12C and 32C. In the Spring 20-22C would be an average high temperature and in the Fall 24-26C. Mallorca is a dry place but there are on average 5 days each month with some rain.
-
Can I come to Mallorca early or stay late?
Certainly! However, we will need to make arrangements with our hotels so please provide as much notice as possible.
If you are coming for extra days plan to enjoy the island but not to ride a bike. The bike rentals are only for the length of the Camp and given the demand situation for bikes we are not usually able to provide extra bike days. The rides during the Camp are generally enough for you.
-
What sort of gear do I need to bring?
We send out a packing list in the weeks leading up to camp, but the shortlist is: weather appropriate clothes, helmet, bike shoes, bike pedals, and anything else you like to take riding.
-
What distances and elevations can I expect?
While every group in each Camp may ride somewhat different routes, expect between 60-140 kms with an average of about 90 kms per day (see the Camp Details page for the Sample Itinerary) and elevation gains of 600-2600m depending on the day. We offer “bail out” opportunities where a ride is too challenging for some.
-
Do I have to ride every day?
No, of course not. However, we run a Cycling Camp so our guides anticipate riders coming ready to ride, having trained over the previous months and ready to give Camp your best effort.
For those coming as “non-riders” there is always the opportunity to rent trekking e-bikes from our bike supplier and tour on your own using our pre-planned routes.

What is the Trevoyages cancellation policy?
Deposits Refund Policy:
Refund requests made within 14 days of receipt of the deposit are 100% refundable, less a $75 service charge. Trevoyages on receipt of a deposit will soon be making deposits on room and board, bikes and guiding which results in your deposits being non-refundable after 14 days.
Balance of Camp Fees Refund Policy:
By the time you pay your final payment, Trevoyages will have paid in full for room and board, bikes and guiding, so those payments are nonrefundable when made by you.
Application for Special Consideration: Notwithstanding the above, if you suffer an injury which prevents you from riding, have a personal health crisis or a significant family health or other crisis, deemed as such by Trevoyages in its sole discretion, and if we are able to secure a partial refund from the hotel and the bike supplier on the basis of your issue, we will return an appropriate amount calculated at our discretion.

Will Camp prices change?
The prices of our Camps tend to go up with inflation a little every year. We have also made our Camps closer to All Inclusive by including the costs of a night away from our main accommodation and / or special group events; and supplying an all-Canadian Guiding Corps. A Canadian Dollar below .6667 compared to the Euro is now affecting pricing. We do not change our prices after publication unless there some radical unanticipated change..
